The Vijaya Bank was founded on 23 October 1931 by late Shri A B Shetty along with other framers. The objective of the founder was to promote banking habits, thrifts and entrepreneurship among the farming community of Karnataka state. The bank has been categorized under three branches- head office, regional office and branches.
The bank become the scheduled bank in 1968 and later grew into all India bank with nine smaller banks merged within it. The eligibility criteria defined by the Vijaya Bank for the recruitment is- A graduation degree in any discipline through a recognized university and the minimum TWS score prescribed for general candidates is-138 , whereas for SC/ST it is-113.

The selection process consists of-
IBPS written Exam- the candidate who possess a valid score card issued by the IBPS in common written exam are only eligible to apply for the posts.
Interview through Group discussion- Depending upon the vacancies in Union/ state territory Total weightage standard score and score card provided by IBPS through the common written exam and rank which should be high based on the merit basis are made to call for the interview. The interview through group discussion is conducted to calculate the emotional stability, interpersonal competence, self confidence and adaptability, positive attitude towards work, temperament and communication skill.
The personal interview will be conducted for 100 marks in which one have to clear it with 40% minimum marks. The final selection is based upon the merit ranking reckoned after calculating the marks obtained in TWS in common written exam and interview.
